It's official! Alaina and David are married! August 20th, 2010 was the big day (I know, this post was a long time coming...). We are so happy for the newlyweds, and so glad to add another awesome brother-in-law to the family!

We also had a pretty great celebratory wedding weekend all together. The bride was stunning, the groom was beaming, the kids were adorable. Get ready for a ton of pictures!

One of David's nieces couldn't decide who she liked dancing with better, Spencer or Sam...and we caught it all on camera! (The really good stuff is at the end, sorry!)

This 68 year old can ROCK!

I am totally serious. Sir Paul McCartney (he was knighted, you know), is AWESOME! He came to perform in Utah, for the first time, this summer, and I HAD to go, and I HAD to drag Dave with me! We had such a blast! Dave wasn't so sure at first...for the first 45 min, he was playing "angry birds" on his phone (rude. I hope Sir Paul didn't see). But by the end he was dancing and singing like the rest of the drunk people there! We had such a fun night, and it was SO cool to hear a real Beatle play lots of Beatles songs. Actually, this was my 2nd time seeing a real Beatle. I saw Ringo in concert back in college. He didn't play at a stadium though...he played at Weber State. Oh well.

I have known for a long time that I am a huge Beatles fan, but now I know that I am a huge Paul McCartney fan as well.

I have a 5 year old

My baby is 5 years old. Here is a look at his first 6 birthdays (I'm counting the day he was born here =) ). Have I ever mentioned how much we love this kid? Cause man, we do!

5 Years old at our first "friend" party. We invited a slew of Spencer's (and me and Dave's) friends, and partied it up at a Jumpin' Jacks. A place with a bunch of fun bounce houses. I think we all had fun, and Spencer had a blast, and certainly felt loved! We have amazing friends! We're pretty lucky.

We love each other

There are other things I've been meaning to blog about...but I had to share a couple of cute conversations I've had with Spencer from the last couple of days...

This is actually a conversation we have a lot lately - I tell him how much I love him, he tells me how much he loves me (ie, I love you so, so, so, big, fat much! etc). And then I say, "We love each other, huh?" And Spencer says, "Yeah, we love each other...And, we love ourselves." Aww...good lesson to learn early on!

Yesterday I told Spencer that my birthday is this week (well, today to be exact), and he said, "Oh, what should I get you for your birthday? Do you want a sharp knife?" Me: "Uhh...maybe not...?" Spencer: "Do you want a gum box?" Me: "Ok, sure...?" Hey, at least he's thinking about it!

Oh, one more conversation, this one is between Spencer and Dave...They were at the water park together, and Spencer asks "Daddy, why do you have hair all stuck on you?" Dave: "When you're older you'll have hair stuck on you too." Spencer: (Excitedly) "Oooh, really?!" First he seemed a little disturbed by the hair, and then so quickly was excited at the prospect of having some of his own someday =).

L'Amore

My little sister, Alaina, is getting MARRIED!

The 4th of 4 Webb girls is getting hitched in August. I'm so happy and excited for her! She is marrying a very awesome young man, named David. That will be the 3rd David in our family! Crazy. But hey, it's a great name. David is actually from our hometown too, and he and Alaina were friends growing up, but they didn't start dating until after his mission. His Dad is an obstetrician, and actually delivered Alaina! (Sorry Alaina, you knew I couldn't leave that detail out!) When they (finally) got engaged, her status on facebook read, "little did I know as I was coming out of the womb that I was meeting my future father in law." Hilarious.

They really seem perfect for each other, and we are all so happy for them. So, congratulations you two crazy kids! And Welcome to the family, David!

What a weekend!

This is how our 4th of July weekend went...

We spent a whole lot of time with these guys...

We went shopping for wedding stuff (my sis Alaina is getting married in August! Woot!)
We went to dinner with 2 different sets of Aunts and Uncles.
We went to Seven Peaks.
We went to the Freedom Days carnival, where Spence got to ride some rides and get a tiger painted on his face.
We laughed and ate a lot.

We went to Staduim of Fire!

And saw Carrie Underwood perform - she was amazing!!

After seeing some of the fire, Spencer ended up spending the remainder of the show under the bench with a blanket over him. He doesn't like fire or loud noises. Probably not a good show to take him to...oops... (We took some headphones to "lessen" the noise, but mostly to help Spence feel better about the noise. All we could find were these headphones to use for Skype. And no, they didn't really help...but he does look cute and silly in them! And you can kinda see the tiger on his cheek.)

We spent some quality time together =).

Sunday was a day of rest...and iphone games...

Monday we went to the parade...which was actually really good, even though nobody threw any candy.

After the parade Spencer and Dave and some other friends went tubing down the Provo river. (No picture for that one.)

Meanwhile, I went with one of my favorite people...

To top off a fantastic weekend, Dave and I went on a double date with some long lost friends...

and let the boys pick the movie.

The "S" Word, and other funnies

(I'm not sure why, I just thought this picture, that Spencer took of himself, worked here.)

Get your minds out of the potty people, I'm talking about the word "stupid." Somehow it has become a very bad word at our house. I mean, yes, it's not a nice word, and I don't want him to call someone stupid, but somehow we (mostly Dave...which is weird...) have managed to go a little overboard about it. Oh, toot, poop, nuggies, barf, puke, are all fine words around here, but stupid is the WORST thing we can say, and is therefore strictly forbidden. I don't get it.

Anyway, Spencer is obsessed with it, and talks about "the S word" all the time. Luckily he has learned to say "the S word" instead of the actual word. He hears it EVERY time it is said - on tv, by his friends, by other adults, by me or Dave, and he does not hesitate to put you in your place if he hears it come out of your mouth. (Sigh =).) He asks me on a daily basis, "who is the S word?" To which I reply, "No one is...we need to talk nice about everyone." One day he said to me, "Mom, you are not the S word." To which I thanked him...ahh, what a compliment. One day I thought I heard him say, under his breath, "I like the S word." And I was like, "what did you just say? Did you say you like the S word?" And he quickly and enthusiastically replied, "Yes, I love it!" It totally made me laugh...but, what a weirdo.

Other recent Spencer funnies:

We were at my parents house last month, and some of my brother's friends came over. He was introducing us to them, and about me he said, "This is Amanda, she's the oldest." (Cause I'm the oldest sibling, ya know.) Spencer heard this and shot his head around to me all shocked and asked, "Are you the oldest?" And I said, "Yes." And he turned back around and said, "I want a new mom." Sheesh, thanks! I told him later that he is the oldest cousin (on my side of the family), and at first he was disappointed to hear that...but then we decided that we are both "oldests," and that's kinda cool.

One day we were at the grocery store, and he kept asking me if things were "Trisha's." I was very confused, but finally realized he was asking if the items were "nutritious." Ohhh! And then he was asking what foods were "old-tritious"...as in oldtritious must be the opposite of nutritious. Again, the old and new thing keeps coming up =).
